By Angel Perkins Correspondent It wasn’t hopes for the golden ticket but the hunt for the golden egg that had children from the Triton school area hunting at the Bourbon Community Park last Saturday.
Children old enough to walk to 12 years old were divided into five age groups to find as many plastic eggs as they could and watched out for the revered golden egg which won them a large monetary prize. The annual Easter holiday hunt is put on by the Bourbon Kiwanis each year as just one of the many community outreach programs. In the age 0 to 2 category, 2-year-old Braiden Wiseman was the lucky hunter; ages 3 through 5 winner was 4-year-old Lilee Stetzel; Shelby Ritter, 7, found the golden egg for the 6 through 8-year-old age group; Griffin Snay won the 9 and 10 age group and Hailey Ross got the prize for the 11 and 12-year-old group. “I saw this gold thing by a branch and I stopped, moved the branch and found it,” said the proud, young Snay.
