DONALDSON — The difficulties continued for the Ancilla College softball team over the weekend, as the Lady Chargers fell into the cellar of the Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) Western Conference with six straight conference losses.
In their first set, Ancilla lost to Kalamazoo Valley Community College 8-3 and 9-1. Kourtney Kohl was 4-4 and was joined by a 3-4 performance by Brittany Safranek in the first game. Safranek added one more hit in game two and finished with 3 RBI on the day. Friday’s matchup pitted Ancilla against the #3 team in the nation, Lansing Community College. Although Ancilla put together their best defensive performance of the year, the Lansing offense was too strong, winning by scores of 8-0 and 9-1. Kohl and Safranek both finished the day with two hits each. Alisha Davenport had Ancilla’s lone RBI in the series. The final doubleheader of the weekend was at Jackson Community College. The host Jets outplayed Ancilla to the tune of 7-2 and 5-0 scores. Safranek, Davenport, and Lindsay Duke all finished with two hits each on the day. Golf fundraiser
