By Rusty Nixon Correspondent PLYMOUTH — Area residents need to get their bikes ready to join a part of the CBS’ hit show “The Amazing Race.” Phil Keoghan, host of the hit reality show, has embarked on a cross country bike ride cycling from Los Angeles to New York — a journey that will span 40 days and more than 3,500 miles, averaging 100 miles per day and stopping in 39 different cities — including Plymouth — Sunday, April 26.
“The producers contacted us about a month ago,” said Plymouth Mayor Mark Senter. “They let us know that he was coming this way. It’s really an exciting thing.” The city of Plymouth will be welcoming Keoghan next Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. at the Roadrunner Shelter at Centennial Park. Senter would like to invite everyone out to make Koeghan and his crew feel welcome in Plymouth, and bring a bike and ride along with him. “I’ll ride with him for awhile,” admitted Senter. “I don’t know if I’ll make it all the way to the county line, but I’ll ride with him to the city limits.”
