WARSAW — Velma Lucille Warner, 89, of Warsaw, formerly of Argos, died June 18, 2013 at 5:35 p.m. at Miller’s Merry Manor of Warsaw following a lengthy illness.
She was born to Samuel L. Heims and Della A. (Waltz) Heims on Oct. 8, 1923 in Winamac. She has lived in the Argos community for more than 73 years, coming from Winamac.
On Feb. 29, 1939 in Argos, she married Harold D. Warner who preceded her May 4, 2013.
Velma was a housewife/homemaker. She was a member of the Gospel Meeting House of Ora.
She is survived by daughters – Pat West of Warsaw; and April R. Warner; grandchildren – Rick Rish of South Bend; Lee Ellen Rish of Tunker; and Elizabeth Clark and husband Alex of Warsaw; great-grandchildren – Annabel Clark and Osiris Rish, Thaddeus Rish, Leonidas Rish; and sister-in-law – Janet Heims of Plymouth.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters – Vera Litchwork and Adderinne Heims, and brothers – George, Ralph, Charlie, Merlin, and Rev. Vern Heims.
Friends may visit with the family Wednesday, June 26, 2013 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, 208 N. Michigan St., Argos.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Argos with Rev. Don Franklin of the Gospel Meeting House in Ora officiating. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery.
