U.S. 30, King Road fatality

Marshall County Coroner William Cleavenger announced late last night that 72-year-old Frances M. Long, of Bourbon, died at 5:48 p.m. at the emergency room of St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Plymouth of injuries suffered in a late afternoon accident at U.S. 30 & King Road in Plymouth.

She died of blunt force injuries sustained when her car was struck broadside by a truck. According to police, Long's vehicle was north on King Road when it pulled into the path of a U.S. 30 eastbound semi. The semi driver was uninjured.

Long, who was wearing a seat belt, was transported from the scene to the hospital in Plymouth where she later died. The accident remains under investigation by the coroner and the Marshall County Police
Department.
