Unknown woman wanders into LaPaz home

March 7, 2012

LAPAZ — Residents in LaPaz had an unwelcome houseguest Friday around 2 a.m., when a 22-year-old woman wandered into their home and into their master bedroom.
Marshall County police officers as well as LaPaz fire and EMS personnel were dispatched to the home and found the woman conscious, but incoherent in the bedroom. The residents of the home told law enforcement that they had no idea who the woman was, and thought that she might be under the influence of drugs.
A police report states that evidence found at the scene indicates that the woman was highly intoxicated on an unknown controlled substance. She was transported to Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in Plymouth for medical treatment. Formal charges are pending at this time, and the woman's name was not released.
