Triton student has died

August 30, 2010

ETNA GREEN — A 13-year-old Etna Green boy lost his life Saturday morning as a result of a tragic accident that took place on his family’s farm.
Wyman Lynn Miller, an eighth grade student at Triton Jr.-Sr. High School, went out at about 6 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 28 to gather 14 horses, most of them Belgian Draft horses, from a wooded area behind the family farm at 8409 West, CR 750 North to send them back to the barn to be fed.
He brought back four of them but when he didn’t return with more, his brothers went to look for him and found him unconcious.
At around 6:35 a.m. emergency personnel were called to the scene by a relative while a sister performed CPR to the unresponsive boy.
He was immediately transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital where he was pronounced dead by Kosciusko County Deputy Coroner Michael Wilson at 8:15 a.m.
Wilson said that it appeared Miller had died of blunt force trauma.
It was believed that the young teen was either struck by one of the horses or pinned to a tree by one because of the injuries he sustained.
He leaves behind his parents, Lloyd and Margaret Miller, four brothers, four sisters and grandparents, Edward and Edna Miller of Nappanee.
