Triton grad Ben Montalbano signs with Ancilla basketball

June 30, 2011

DONALDSON — Ben Montalbano will don the blue and yellow on the court once more, but this time he’ll do so for the Chargers.
Montalbano, a 2010 Triton High School graduate, has signed with Ancilla College men’s basketball for the 2011-2012 season.
Montalbano, a 5’8” point guard, was an Honorable Mention All-State selection in 2010 for Triton and helped lead the team to a state title in 2008 and a state runner-up finish in 2009.
“Ben has a very high basketball IQ and is experienced with running a team on the point,” said Ancilla men’s basketball coach Greg Neeley. “He comes from a tradition of winning and is a great addition to our program.”
In addition to his all-state honors, Montalbano was named Bi-County MVP in 2010 and was also an all-conference selection. He was coached by Jason Groves, lettering three years in basketball and earning eight varsity letters in all.
Montalbano is the son of Jay and Jill Montalbano.
