MARSHALL COUNTY — A little help from the local tourism office can go a long way.
Marshall County Tourism has an allocated $25,000 to help local organizations with the promotion of events that create tourism opportunities to the county and bring more dollars to the area.
"We haven't received any requests yet, but they're not due until next Friday," said Tourism Director Cori Humes.
The deadline for applications is Jan. 16. The money allocated to qualifying organizations can be used for advertising, printing, and promotional expenses. Visitors have a significant impact on the economy of the county, and those groups that encourage visitors to stay and reallocate their dollars can go a long way towards helping the county to grow.
Other costs such as brochures and websites that provide information to encourage visitation are also encouraged.
Those interested in applying for the 2015 grant application and guidelines can visit http://www.visitmarshallcounty.org/about-marshall-county or call the tourism office at 574-936-1882.
