Tony Stewart area events canceled

LAKEVILLE/PLYMOUTH — Tony Stewart's two scheduled area appearances this week have been canceled.
Stewart’s scheduled appearance at a meet and greet event at the Newton Center on Thursday, Aug. 14 has been canceled after a tragedy that occurred over the weekend at a New York dirt track race.
Stewart was involved in an accident that resulted in the death of fellow racer Kevin Ward Jr. on Saturday.
Anyone who has already purchased tickets for the Newton Center event will receive a refund. Please contact the Newton Center at 574-784-2749 for details.
A press release issued by Chris Milliken, senior manager travel – head coordinator at Hoosier Tire said, "We at Hoosier Racing Tire, Newton Center and Newton Park extend our deepest condolences and prayers to the family of Kevin Ward, Jr. and our thoughts and prayers to Tony Stewart and his family."
Stewart's scheduled Saturday appearance at Plymouth Speedway has also been canceled.
According to an announcement from Plymouth Speedway's website,
"We at Plymouth Speedway extend our deepest condolences and prayers to the family of Kevin Ward, Jr. and thoughts and prayers to Tony Stewart and his family. Tony Stewart will NOT be racing at Plymouth Speedway this Saturday. More information on the weekend's racing will be announced this week."
