PLYMOUTH — Shop with a Cop organizers have a goal—to take more than 300 children Christmas shopping Dec. 10. Collection buckets and paper ornaments for donations are set up in stores all around Marshall County, according to Hurshel Hunter of Plymouth FOP Lodge 195.
“We couldn’t do it without the volunteers,” said Hunter.
He added that many schools in the county are also doing their own fundraisers for the program, which is now in its 16th year.
To take 300 children on the shopping trip, Shop with a Cop will need to collect between $40-44,000 in donations.
“We have a very giving community, and we always meet our goal,” said Hunter.
Applications to go on the shopping trip can be picked up at schools, the Boys & Girls Club, and WTCA. They must be turned in by Dec. 2.
Donations may be mailed to P.O. Box 875, Plymouth. Checks should be made out to Plymouth FOP Lodge 195.
