Strong second half keys Argos win

September 1, 2010

ARGOS — Argos took a 5-1 decision over visiting Logansport Tuesday night, getting a pair of goals each from Samantha Stults and Ally Rospopo.
The Berries struck first when freshman Whitney Jennings corralled an errant Dragon pass and took it in for the score in the 13th minute. Rospopo leveled the match with five minutes to go in the half on a rebound in front of the goal.
"We were possessing, but were not very efficient in front of the net," said Argos head coach Jon Alcorn. "We played OK but were emotionally flat. Six starters missed at least part of practice (Monday) due to illness or injuries and one more was feeling ill today. Mostly at the half, we needed to get them pumped up a bit."
The Dragons came out of their slump in a big way, scoring three times in an eight-minute span.
