Storms barrel through Marshall county overnight

MARSHALL COUNTY — Four of Indiana’s largest utilities reported nearly 149,000 homes and businesses without power as of daybreak Tuesday as storms were still pushing their way across the region. The storms seemed to have been the strongest through the northern part of the county in Lapaz. Last night NIPSCO reported as many as 86,000 customers in Indiana without power as a result of the storm. An automated message at Marshall County REMC alerted callers to the widespread outages in their system as well.
