Starke officers discover meth lab during routine check

GROVERTOWN — On March 27, at approximately 9 a.m., officers from the Starke County Sheriff's Department went to 11060 E. 400 N., Grovertown, for a sex offender residence check.
Once on the scene, officers noticed several items on the property and inside a camper that is used to manufacture methamphetamine.
Once officers received a search warrant from Starke Circuit Court Judge, Hall, they executed the warrant.
Officers located sulfuric acid, lye solvent, methamphetamine, a one pot methamphetamine lab, and HCL generator.
Arrested was James Sobieck on preliminary charges of dealing/manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of precursors, and possession of methamphetamine.
