Skronski receives lifetime achievement award

KNOX — Starke County Circuit Court Clerk Evelyn Skronski received the 2011 Lifetime Achievement Award at the Indiana 2012 election conference, which was held in Indianapolis Dec. 13 and 14.
The award is given to the individual (clerk) whose outstanding career embodies leadership, strength and determination, coupled with friendliness and service to all citizens and voters throughout the state of Indiana. This nomination is made by a county election board member and decided by the Indiana Election Division.
Skronski was both honored for the nomination and then for being selected this year's recipient of the award.
"I was so surprised and grateful for being considered and then chosen as the recipient of this award," she said.
The Indiana 2012 election conference is a conference to get ready for the 2012 Elections. Those attending from Starke County were Starke County Election Board Members, Jim Henriott and Pat Mitchell, Voter Registration Deputy, Randi Beem, and Skronski. There were five awards presented at the conference. Of the five, Starke County Election received two — not too shabby. The Starke County Election board was the recipient of “The County Election Board Members of the Year Award.” This award is given to the county election board members whose service embodies bipartisan cooperation in the administration of the election process, and whose achievement is to represent one political party, while serving all county voters. The nomination for this award is authored by the County Clerks, submitted to the Indiana Election Division for consideration for the award.
