Sheila Jacobs
Feb. 26, 1936-April 26, 2012
PLYMOUTH — Sheila Ann Jacobs, 76, of Plymouth and Winter Haven, Fla., went to be with her Lord and Savior, April 26, 2012, after sustaining injuries in an automobile accident.
Sheila was born Feb. 26, 1936, to Wilbur A. and Ann E. (Roszhart) McIntyre in Chicago, Ill. As a teenager, Sheila and her family moved to a dairy farm in Leiters Ford. Sheila graduated from Aubbeenaubbee High School, in 1954, and May 7, 1955, she married Richard H. Jacobs. They were the parents of four children, Richard II, Michael, Timothy, and Marianne.
Sheila became a licensed practical nurse, in 1976. After several years, Sheila returned to college and became a registered nurse. Working in obstetric/gynecology, she served first, for 10 years at the former Parkview Hospital in Plymouth, and then 10 additional years, at the Houser-Norborg Medical Group in South Bend, until her retirement in 1997.
Sheila enjoyed visiting with friends, and cherished time with her grandchildren. She encouraged everyone she met and if you weren't friends when you met her, you were, when you parted. She set high goals, for herself, and achieved them, and so challenged others to high standards as well. She will be greatly missed.
Sheila is survived by her husband, her sons, her daughter; her son-in-law, Michael DePoy; and her daughter-in-law, Nicki. She also leaves 13 grandchildren; Richard III, Josette, Mahala, Jared, Noah, Hannah, Sarah, Isaiah, Joshua, Michael Jr., Mathew, Makayla, and Morgan; six great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Sharon Foster of Missouri, Nancy Cook of Florida, and Michaelene (Richard) Kuhn of Plymouth.
