Tough start dooms Triton
The Trojans traveled to Adams Central with hopes of avenging last year’s Sectional 35-opening loss, but instead history repeated itself as Triton took a 38-14 loss on the road in Monroe.
Adams Central advances to play Southwood, a 20-12 winner over Fremont, in the semifinals next week.
The Trojans scuffled to a rough start as they allowed 31 points by the hosts in the first quarter to put the game all but completely out of reach early.
Bryson Mosier rushed for 50 yards in 10 carries and connected with receivers at an 11-for-17 clip with two touchdowns and three interceptions.
Grant Stichter led the receiving corps with four catches for 56 yards and a touchdown, while Seth Flenar finished with an 11-yard touchdown reception, and D.J. Riffle caught three passes totaling 25 yards.
Triton closes the year at 1-9.

Culver closes at West Central
Culver couldn’t find the stops it needed as Indiana Football Coaches Association Poll No. 8 West Central ground up 392 yards on the ground, and the Cavaliers’ season ended the same way it began — with a loss in Francesville Friday night, 26-7.
West Central advances to the Class A Sectional 33 semifinal opposite Whiting.
The Trojans managed a score in each of the game’s four quarters, while Culver was unable to break into the end zone until Collin Stevens connected with Micah Budzinski on a 29-yard touchdown pass at the 11:31 mark of the fourth quarter to cut the Cavs’ deficit to 20-7.
Stevens went 11-for-23 through the air in his first game back since being sidelined with a separated shoulder in a game against Jimtown back on Sept. 28.
Budzinski caught six passes for 78 yards with a touchdown, and Tucker Schultz made three catches for 20 yards to go along with his 33 rushing yards in 13 carries.
Preston Hansel finished with 16 rushing yards in 12 carries.
Culver struggled to move the ball on the ground with just 42 rushing yards and three fumbles in the season-ending loss.
The Cavs close at 3-7.
