HANNA â€”Â Sarah Rose Reinert, 35, of Hanna, passed away Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014 at the VNA Hospice Center. She was born Nov. 24, 1978 in Blue Island, Ill., attended St. Joseph School in Homewood until 1992, graduated from Marian Catholic High School in 1996, received her B.S. in psychology from Valparaiso University in 2000, then her BSN and R.N. in 2002. Sarah was currently Admissions R.N. for the VNA of Porter County and had previously served at Porter Memorial Hospital, I.U. LaPorte Hospital and Michiana Behavioral Health in Plymouth as a BSPN. She was also active with the Ladies of Orak Shrine in Michigan City.
On June 21, 2003 she married Todd Reinert who survives along with children: Todd Reinert II of Valparaiso, Sean Reinert of Chesterton, Tarren â€śBugâ€ť Reinert of Hanna, parents, David and Vicki Lechner of Chicago, brother, Edward W. (April) Lechner of Drummonds, Tenn., nephews, Andrew and Matthew Lechner, mother-in-law, Suzette Reinert of Valparaiso and grandmother-in-law, Charmaine Reinert of Valparaiso. She was preceded in death by her sister, Ann Elizabeth Lechner.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday 11 a.m. CST at Wanatah Funeral Chapel, 309 N. Main St., Wanatah, Rev. David Fuller officiating with burial to follow at Hanna Cemetery. Visitation Monday from 4 â€“ 8 p.m. CST. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children.
