PLYMOUTH — Sanford Doyle Overmyer, 89, of 748 Thayer St., Plymouth, passed away at 2:16 p.m., Monday, Nov. 21, 2011, at Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home, in Plymouth.
Doyle was born April 7, 1922, in Leiters Ford, to Clyde and Leona Pickens Overmyer. Doyle married the former Ida Mae Good Jan. 25, 1942. They had been married for 64 years when Ida passed away June 9, 2006. Doyle was a member of the VFW Post #1162, Plymouth Moose Lodge #741, and the American Legion Post #27. He was a retired brick mason, sharing his trade with many, for 63 years. Doyle proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII, in the European Theater.
Doyle is survived by his son, Ron Overmyer of Plymouth; his daughter-in-law, Connie Overmyer of Plymouth; his granddaughter, Colleen (Rodney) Slyh Sr. of Plymouth; his great-grandchildren, Rodney Slyh, Jr., Carlie Slyh, Cameron Slyh, Jackson Doyle Slyh, and Tommy Lee Slyh all of Plymouth; and his sister, Imogene Miller of  Las Vegas, Nev. Doyle was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ida Mae Overmyer June 9, 2006; his son, Tommy Lee Overmyer in 2003; his daughter, Colleen in 1942; and his sister.
Memorials may be given to the choice of the donor.
