PLYMOUTH — Ruth A. Roose, 101, of Plymouth died at 4:08 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home, in Plymouth.
Ruth was born May 23, 1911, in Plymouth, to George and Edith (Anderson) Staley.
Ruth became the bride of Albert L. Roose, Oct. 25, 1930. Albert passed away Feb. 13, 1966.
Ruth had been a lifetime resident of the Plymouth area. She was a proud farmer’s wife, working right beside her husband, on the farm. She also worked, in her younger years, at Parkview Hospital in Plymouth, as a clerk in the emergency room. She was a charter member of the Yellow Stone Club, volunteered with the Hospital Auxiliary, as well as a member of the Inwood United Methodist Church. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Mary “Kay” (Herschel) Yockey of Plymouth; her granddaughter, Karen (James) Zimmerman of Bourbon; two great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Albert; her great-grandson; and her twin brother, Harold; her brother, Walter; and her sisters, Juanita and Celia.
