PLYMOUTH — Ronald Lee Stahl, 67, of Plymouth passed away Dec. 12, 2013 at 6:27 p.m. at his residence. He had been in declining health for several months.
He was born July 19, 1946 in Hammond to Earl Edward Stahl and Pansy Violet (Sellers) Stahl. He has lived in the Plymouth area for the last 20 years, coming from Hammond.
He was married to Barbara Wilkes for 25 years, they later divorced. His companion Sandy Thomas and he had spent the last 15 years together.
He worked at Gary Works, steel mill in Gary.
Ron proudly served as a combat Veteran in the United States Army during the Vietnam War with the 1st Calvary Division from 1966 to 1967. He was a lifetime member of the VFW in Plymouth, and Hessville.
He is survived by a son – Ronald L. Stahl Jr. of South Bend; grandsons – Nathaniel Lee Stahl and Brandon Robert Stahl; brother – James Stahl and Rhoda of Plymouth; sisters – Karen Obenchain and Ronald of Plymouth; Sherri Ludwig of Plymouth; and stepfather – Kenny Iliff of Plymouth.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers – Bob Stahl, Chuck Stahl, Harold Stahl, Larry Stahl and William Stahl; sisters – Rosemary Boyd, Phyllis Townsel, Norma Stahl, Shirley Heddens.
Friends may visit with the family Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013 from 4 – 8 p.m. at the Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, 208 N. Michigan St., Argos.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013 at the funeral home, with Rev. Rob Mace officiating.
Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos with the United States Army Honor Guard and the James Lowell Corey American Legion Post #68 Argos.
