Rockies nip Northridge

MIDDLEBURY — Northridge bottled up Plymouth running back Brock Smith all night.
Smith, though, found another way to leave his mark.
With the Rockies clinging to a tenuous one-point lead and 2:28 left in regulation, the senior standout blocked the potential game-tying extra point to preserve Class 4A No. 5 Plymouth’s 14-13 Northern Lakes Conference football win at Northridge Friday.
“(Smith) just made a play,” Plymouth head coach John Barron said. “The guys opened it up for him; he had a clean look and got a block. I can’t take any credit for it. That was the will of a senior not to lose.
