KEWANNA — Robert G. Collins, 82, 4995 W. 725 South, Kewanna, Ind., passed away at 6:50 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2010 at Hickory Creek of Rochester.
He was born Sept. 4, 1928 in Monticello, the son of Jesse and Hazel (Moore) Collins. He was a 1947 graduate of Metea High School.
Sept. 18, 1949 in Jeffersonville, he married Mary Mullins and she survives.
Mr. Collins had worked as a self-employed repairman and had been a member of the Indiana National Guard. He enjoyed going to auctions, spending time his family and making homemade ice cream.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Collins, Kewanna; children: Carolyn and husband Ronald Pearson of Macy, Lois and husband Sam Coffing, of Kewanna, Ruth Price of Logansport, Peggy and husband Jimmy of Scarbrough, Post Falls, Idaho, Michael and wife Emyle Collins of Plymouth, Jim and wife Viola Collins of Knox, and Amy and husband Scott Lewis of North Manchester; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Virginia and husband Roger Brock of Kokomo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Becky Collins; grandson, Brian Pearson; and brother, Pete Luse.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 17, at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Fulton, with the Rev. Jason See officiating.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 16 and one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Fulton Cemetery, Fulton, Indiana.
