Richard Lamar Tuttle

WINONA LAKE â€” Richard Lamar Tuttle, 73, of Winona Lake, formerly of Argos, died Aug. 12, 2013 at 11:25 a.m. at Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester following a sudden illness.
He was born June 23, 1940 in Walkerton to Clem K. and Sarah Elizabeth (Bucher) Tuttle.
He lived in the Argos community since 1964 and moved to Winona Lake in 2011.
On Oct. 24, 1959 he married Ann Marie (Harrell) Tuttle in Plymouth at St. Michael Catholic Church; she preceded in death Dec. 5, 2009. On July 30, 2011 he married Sharon E. Morrow in Winona Lake at Warsaw Community Church.
Richard was a partner of Midway Dental Supply Company.
He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Plymouth and attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Warsaw.
He was a former member of the Jaycees Club of Argos; member of the Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Club, Warsaw; Warsaw Lions Club; and the John C. Peterson American Legion Post #49 Warsaw; and was on the Argos Town Council from 1990 to 1994.
He was a volunteer at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw working at the cancer center, surgical desk and the information desk.
He was a graduate of Walkerton High School class of 1958. After graduation on July 8, 1958 Richard joined the United States Navy and proudly served on the U.S.S. Hermitage until his Honorable Discharge on July 7, 1964.
He is survived by his wife â€” Sharon Tuttle of Winona Lake; two daughters â€” Rose Krull of Rochester; and Dede Crum and husband Jeff of Culver; two sons â€” Richard L. Tuttle Jr. of Lafayette; and David W. Tuttle and wife Debra of Rochester; stepdaughter â€” Kathy Cook and husband Tim of Warsaw; stepson â€” Dennis Morrow and wife Deb of Lancaster, Pa.; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; and two brothers â€” Stanley Tuttle and wife Bonnie of Barbee Lake; Gerald Tuttle of Cassopolis, Mich.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son â€” Barry L. Tuttle (Aug. 5, 1973), wife Ann Marie Tuttle, five brothers, and six sisters.
Friends may visit with the family Friday, Aug. 16, 2013 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 125 N. Harrison St., Warsaw.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church; at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, officiated by Rev. Father Phillip DeVolder of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Judeâ€™s Childrenâ€™s Hospital.
