Culver falls at Jimtown
Jimtown scored three touchdowns in the second quarter for an eventual 35-14 Northern State Conference win over Culver at Jimtown Friday.
The Jimmies snapped a 7-7 tie with a touchdown off an 84-yard kickoff at the 10:18 mark of the second frame and never looked back in the win.
Micah Budzinski scored Culver’s first touchdown on a 6-yard fumble return at the 10:32 stop of the second quarter to knot the game at 7-all with Collin Stevens’ PAT.
Stevens ran in a one-yarder for Culver’s final score of the night at the 1:50 mark of the fourth to bring the score to its final.
Stevens led Culver in rushing with 66 yards on 14 rushes while passing at a 4-for-10 clip. Kevin Hogan recorded 58 yards on 20 carries in the loss, which drops Culver to 4-3 on the year and 3-2 in the NSC.

CMA falls at Churubusco
Churubusco struck first and held off Culver Military for an 18-14 win over the visiting Eagles at Churubusco Friday.
Connor Frantti scored on a 52-yard pass from Hayes Barnes in the second quarter to give CMA its only lead of the game, 7-6. Aramanti Phillips scored CMA’s second and final touchdown on a six-yard run in the third quarter to bring the score to its final margin.
Pierre Byrne had 66 yards rushing and Phillips had 57 in the loss, which drops the Eagles to 2-5 on the season. CMA hosts Sheridan next week at 7:30 p.m.

Plymouth beat Triton and Bremen beat LaVille on all courts in a pair of 5-0 shutouts at the Bremen Boys Tennis Sectional Friday.
