Triton came up short in a tough five-setter to visiting Bethany Christian Thursday night at the Trojan Trench, 25-21, 25-18, 20-25, 26-28, 15-12.
Shana Anderson tallied 13 kills with five blocks and five digs, while Breanna Lemler finished with eight kills and five blocks.
Marissa Ross recorded 26 assists and three aces, and Casey Scott led the Trojans in digs with seven.

Plymouth loses NLC heartbreaker
Plymouth dropped a five-game heartbreaker with Northern Lakes Conference rival Warsaw at home Thursday, 21-25, 25-18, 25-20, 7-25, 15-13.
Amber Redinger put away 14 kills to go with a balanced 14 digs and five blocks. Haley Harrell dished out 25 assists with 27 digs to lead the team in passing and setting.
Marissa German finished with seven kills, Mikayla German recorded 14 digs, and Andria Shook tallied 12 digs.
The Lady Pilgrims slip to 7-10 overall with a 1-2 conference record.

CGA closes regular season
Culver Girls Academy closed out its regular season with a split against Rochester and Tippecanoe Valley at Mystic Hills Thursday.
The Lady Eagles were led by MacKenzie Tothâ€™s 43 and Samantha Seibelâ€™s 46. Gracen Hirschy shot 48 and Maureen Reed carded a 52 as CGA beat Tippy Valley handily but lost to Rochester by seven strokes.
The three teams will meet again at the Warsaw Sectional Saturday.

Danny Reynoso scored two goals, including the gameâ€™s final strike, and Bremen preserved a 2-2 tie with host Concord Thursday night.

Binkley, Argos rout Clay
Damon Binkley finished with a hat trick and an assist, and Argos routed visiting Clay 7-0 at home Thursday.
Binkley broke a stalemate on a Dominic Cataldo assist in the 31st minute to give the Dragons a 1-0 halftime edge before the home team came out firing with six goals in the second half.
The Dragons outshot Clay 18-0 at the match to move to 9-1 on the year.

Rockies freshmen move to 4-0 with shutout
The Plymouth Rockie freshman football team traveled to Middlebury Thursday night and defeated Northridge 23-0.
The Young Rockies were able to score one touchdown in the first half on a 5-yard run by Cam Eveland. In the second half, the Rockies defense continued its dominance by scoring a safety by A.J. Styers. Bodie Neidig scored on a 47-yard TD run while Eveland closed out Plymouthâ€™s scoring with a 72-yard punt return.
Plymouth stands at 4-0 for the year and will take on Elkhart Memorial next Wednesday at the Rockpile starting at 5:30 p.m.
8th grade volleyball
Bremen beats LaVille
The Bremen eighth grade volleyball team handed LaVille a two-game loss Thursday night, 25-13, 25-21.
Bremen standouts were Lexy Davis with five aces, Liz Lawmaster with six digs and Josie Detweiler with three digs and two kills.
The Lady Lions play away Saturday at LaVille at 10:15 a.m.

Lady Lions down Lancers
The Bremen seventh grade volleyball team beat LaVille Thursday, 25-22, 25-18.
Kills were made by Bailey Fritter, Sara Knepper, Mackenzie Moren and Lexi Miller. Brooke Kertai and Sara Knepper led the Lady Lions in serving with six aces apiece.
Bremenâ€™s seventh grade plays at Rochester Sept. 17 and Lakeview Sept. 18.
Jr. high cross country
Red Storm defends home turf
The Lincoln Red Storm cross country teams hosted Tippecanoe Valley Thursday night, and both earned wins to remain undefeated at home.
The ladies team was led by a tough group of three as Rachel Crawford took first with a time of 12:27, Kaitlyn Carothers finished second in 12:56, and and Tia Freshour was close behind in third at 13:09. Alyssa Solis, Mercedes Bastardo and Kyndel Grove finished in order in seventh through ninth.
The boys team was extremely competitive, sweeping second through eighth place to beat Tippy Valley by a large margin.
Jeffrey Oliver led Plymouth with a time of 12:20 in second place, Shane Pursch placed third in a time of 12:32, and Jordan Morrow was close behind for fourth overall.
The team confirmed the win by sweeping the next four spots as Daniel Stauffer, Chris Noodwang, Zack Moser and Kelvin Mercer finished fifth through eighth, respectively.
Lincolnâ€™s next home meet is set for next Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. versus Knox.
