LaVille wins 3-way, dual
LaVille topped a three-way nine-hole meet with Northern State Conference opponents New Prairie and Knox Monday, and the Lady Lancers also beat the Cougars as the two teams’ played out 18 at Sprig O’Mint.
Lauren Read led the field with a 43, Shayla Eggert shot a 48, Whitney Brown carded a 51, and Melissa Hall shot a 53 for LaVille, which finished nine in 195.
Read also shot the low round of the 18-hole meet with New Prairie, coming in in 86 as the Lancers won 393-407.
Knox was paced by Sarah Coad’s 61, while Kourtney Wagner and Miranda Shepherd both shot 63, and Kayla Wagner shot a 65 as the Redskins placed third behind New Prairie with a 252 team score.

Area golfers place at IGF Boys Team Championship
John Glenn’s Tyler Prentkowski and Bremen’s Zach Gurtner tied for fifth in the Boys 15-16 division of the Indiana Golf Foundation’s Boys Team Championship Monday at Dye’s Walk Country Club in Greenwood. The duo combined for a 1-under 70 to finish in a two-way tie for fifth at the meet.
Ben Schenk and Nate Kolter of Plymouth turned in a 4-over 75 to finish 11th in the division.
In the boys 17-19 age group, meanwhile, Nappanee’s Payton Grubbs and Logan Kauffman fired off a 2-under-par 69 to place second in their competition at the team meet.
