Volleyball
Plymouth rallies past Knox
Plymouth rallied from a 2-1 deficit at Knox Thursday to top the host Lady Redskins for a nip-tuck victory, 25-19, 22-25, 23-25, 25-20, 16-14.
Amber Redinger put in a strong net game with 17 kills and five blocks, while Andria Shook finished with 13 kills, and Hunter Stevens put up six blocks.
Haley Harrell finished with 31 assists and two aces, while Mikayla German recorded 12 digs and Emily Eveland finished with 11 for the Pilgrims, who moved to an even 2-2 on the year.
Knox was led by Kaitlin Zachary’s 20 kills and three aces, while Torie Elliott finished with 11 kills and three aces.
Nikki Frasure led the home team in setting with 25 assists, and Madison Whiles passed out 10 digs as Knox dropped to 4-4 on the season.

Bremen lost a home match with Concord Thursday in three sets, 25-13, 25-14, 25-22.
Andrea Strehler and Cassie Sears each tallied three kills for Bremen, while Brooke Fitch passed out 15 assists with seven digs. Strehler also recorded three blocks in the loss.

Culver beats West Central
Culver put away host West Central in three sets on the road Thursday, 25-11, 25-20, 27-25.
Donna Zehner led the Lady Cavs attack with 13 kills, while Samantha Howard finished with a strong 10 kills, four aces and 15 assists. Ali Overmyer recorded 24 digs with an ace in the win, which brings Culver to 5-2.

Bremen shut out Culver 6-0 in a Northern State Conference soccer game at home Thursday.
Danny Reynoso finished with a goal and two assists, Sam Bickel notched a goal and an assist, and Andrew Huff finished with a goal and partial assist.
Roberto Gonzalez and Sam Lacher also scored for the Lions, who moved to 3-0-1 overall.

Girls golf
John Glenn beats Knox, Triton
John Glenn edged Knox by five strokes in a win over both the Lady Redskins and Triton in a three-way Northern State Conference girls golf meet at Swan Lake Thursday.
Glenn was led by Madeleine Silvey’s 53, while Morgan Eggleston put up a 55, Kaylee Matz turned in a 58, and Emma Reese shot 62.
Hannah Jennings led Triton with a low-medalist 46, while Lizzy Erne shot 48. Lilly Berger carded a 70, and Kayla Kreft shot 83.
Sarah Coad and Kindrick Joseph led Knox with respective scores of 54 and 56, meanwhile, as Miranda Shepherd carded a 59, and Kourtney Wagner shot 64 for the Redskins.

Mackenzie Toth shot 49 for CGA, while Sammy Seibel carded a 52, and both Maureen Reed and Jenna Hunter recorded scores of 56.

Bremen nips North Judson
Bremen beat both North Judson and Pioneer in a three-way meet at Chesapeake Run Thursday, edging out the Lady Jays by a single stroke.
Kayleigh Daily shot a meet co-low 48 for the Lady Lions. Alex Homann and Kaitlyn Ahlenius came in in 54 and 55, respectively, and Gina Thorton carded Bremen’s fourth score with a 62.

Bremen bounces back
Bremen bounced back from a tough loss to Jimtown with a 5-0 Northern State Conference win over New Prairie Thursday.
The Lions won in straight sets on all courts and gave up just six games to the Cougars as Brad Foster and Wes Burkholder both won 6-0, 6-0 at 1 and 3 singles, and Tommy Foster and Krent Hueni won in two 6-0 sets at 2 doubles.

Triton wins again
Triton handed Rochester a 5-0 loss in a makeup for an earlier rain-out Thursday.
The Trojans won in straight sets on all courts to move to 2-1 with their third match in three days.

Freshman football
Plymouth freshman team wins opener
The Plymouth Rockie freshman football team won its season opener at the Rockpile over NorthWood Thursday night, 55-0.
Head coach Phil Bockman felt that the young Rockies “played inspired and physical football” and said that “this was a true team win and a good one to start their high school career.”
The Plymouth freshman will be in action next Thursday at John Glenn starting at 5:30 p.m.
