WC runs past Cavs
West Central’s Michael Hamilton rushed for 214 yards and three touchdowns and threw for another in a football-season-opening 41-21 win over Culver Community Friday.
Preston Hansel and Tucker Schultz both scored on 4-yard carries for the Cavs, and quarterback Collin Stevens connected with Micah Budzinski for the third Culver score.
The Trojans piled up 357 rushing yards on 45 carries.

Satellites too sturdy for Lancers
Kyle Sturdy rushed for two touchdowns and connected with Mark Roney for another to lead South Central to a 20-6 football win over LaVille Friday.
Levi Lucas returned the second-half opening kickoff 90 yards to account for the Lancers’ lone touchdown. Lucas also finished with a team-high 75 yards rushing.
Defensively, LaVille’s Cameron Gurtner intercepted a pass and piled up a game-leading nine tackles. Bryant Hunsberger recovered a fumble for the Lancers.

Barnes burns Valley
Culver Military Academy’s Hayes Barnes rushed for four touchdowns, capped off the by the game-winner in the third quarter to lead the Eagles to a season-opening win at Tippecanoe Valley Friday.
Barnes scored from 2, 6, 4, and 35 yards.
