Plymouth loses opener to LaPorte
Plymouth dropped its volleyball opener to powerhouse LaPorte 25-13, 25-13, 25-18 at home Tuesday.
Marissa German led the team in kills with six, while Haley Harrell led in digs and assists with 14 and nine, respectively.
German also recorded three digs and a block assist, while Amber Redinger recorded two kills and an ace, and Harrell also served up an ace.
Plymouth will host Penn at 6 p.m. Thursday.

Lancers fall at Elkhart Christian
LaVille opened its season with a three-game loss on the road at Elkhart Christian Tuesday, falling 25-14, 25-8, 25-19.
Kelsey Gurtner recorded an ace, a kill and a block, while Shelby Low recorded an ace and a kill, Katie Berger passed out two assists, and Kyla Coblentz served one ace and had a great passing game with 41 passes.
The Lady Lancers will host Bethany Christian on Thursday at 6 p.m.

The Lady Lions played close with Goshen and even took game two 27-25, but ultimately succumbed in a season-opening loss at home Tuesday, 25-11, 25-27, 25-20, 25-12.
Bremen will play at Central Noble Thursday in a match scheduled for 6 p.m.

Argos drops opener
The Argos High School volleyball team lost its opener to Kankakee Valley in three games Tuesday 25-9, 25-11, 25-11.
The JV Dragons also lost their opener in two games 25-8, 25-16.

Knox moves to 2-0
The Knox volleyball team moved to 2-0 on the young season with a 3-0 victory on the road at Kouts Tuesday, 25-20, 28-26, 25-20.
Hannah Folkers and Kaitlin Zachary led the Lady Redskins in the kills with eight each, while Nikki Frasure passed out 15 assists, and Madison Whiles pulled up six digs.
Zachary also led the team in blocks with five, while Folkers recorded three aces, and Torie Elliott served up five aces with five kills.
The Lady Redskins will travel to sectional foe Kankakee Valley Thursday evening with a 5:30 p.m. CST start.

Plymouth blanks Knox
Plymouth whitewashed Knox 7-0 in a write-in tennis match that featured four singles and three doubles matches Tuesday at Plymouth.
Lane Singleton came back from a first-set loss to edge out Austin Risner in three sets 4-6, 6-1, 7-5 at the 2 singles position, while Luke Bumpus also won in three sets at 3 singles, beating Curtis Scherer 6-2, 1-6, 6-3 in the two closest matches of the day.
Connor Flynn and Jordan Scheetz won a 7-3 tiebreaker in the opening set before putting Harrison Metz and Elliott Coad away in straight sets 7-6(3), 6-1.
Plymouth moved to 2-0 with its second victory in two days. The Pilgrims will travel to Northern Lakes Conference foe Wawasee Thursday for a 5 p.m. match.

Bremen wins opener
Bremen won its boys tennis opener 4-1 over Tippecanoe Valley at home at DeSantis Courts Tuesday.
The Lions won at all positions except 1 singles, and in straight sets on all courts.
Bremen will hit the road Thursday for a match at Fairfield scheduled for 4:30 p.m.

NorthWood tops, Bremen splits 3-way
Led by Kate Adamsâ€™ 46, NorthWood won a three-way girls golf meet with a 190 at Sprig Oâ€™Mint Tuesday, while Bremen split with a 206, and Riley finished last with a 234.
While Adams shot 46, Heidi Morganthaler and Rachel Beebe both shot 47, and Emily Myers shot 50 for the Lady Panthers.
Bremen was led by Laura Davisâ€™ 48 and Kaylin Worthingtonâ€™s 49, while Kailyn Weiss shot 51, and Lindsey Allen carded a 58 for the Lions, who move to 2-1 on the season.
Bremen will play South Bend Adams at Erskine Thursday with a 4:30 p.m. start time.

Glenn splits at Elbel
The John Glenn girls golf team split its three-way match at South Bend Elbel Tuesday, shooting a season-low 233.
Northern State Conference foe New Prairie won the triangular with a 202 compared to South Bend Clay at 343. Medalist for the match was New Prairieâ€™s Lauren Oâ€™Malley with a 47 and low for Clay was Elizabeth Arndt at 49.
Anna Dunn led Glenn with a 54 followed closely by Morgan Egglestonâ€™s 55, while Presley Gee shot a 61, Madeleine Silvey carded a 63, and Hanna Hough shot 73.
The Falcons now own a 3-3 record on the year and will play LaPorte and LaVille at Beechwood Golf Course in LaPorte today at 4 p.m.

LaVille wins second straight
with late goal at Mishawaka
Jordyn Williams scored his fourth goal in two games, and LaVille moved to 2-0 on the year with a 1-0 victory at Mishawaka Tuesday.
The two teams were locked in a stalemate until Williams scored on a Craig Romano assist in the 75th minute.
Joey Vest recorded nine saves for the Lancers, while Blake Kozlowski made 16 saves as LaVille outshot Mishawaka 17-9 in the win.

Bremen won its season opener with a 4-1 victory over visiting Culver Tuesday.
Marisa Browning broke through on a Lexi Pate assist in the 35th minute to put Bremen up 1-0 going into halftime. Jenna Pfeiffer scored a quick pair of goals in the 55th and 57th minutes to keep the pressure on the Lady Cavaliers, and Heather Martin netted Bremenâ€™s final goal in the 68th minute.
Denisha Brown put Culver on the board with an unassisted goal in the 75th minute.
Shayna Graverson had two saves and Shianne Mammon had one for the Lady Lions.
