John Glenn’s Anna Schmeltz shot a 47 to beat out Plymouth’s Morgan Oberley by seven strokes and win the girls 12-14 flight during a Marshall County Junior Tour event at Round Barn, moving into a tie for first with Oberley in the season standings. Katie McDonald of Plymouth shot a 57 for third in the flight.
Culver’s Trent Elliott won the boys 16-18 division with a 75, while Plymouth’s Reis Yoder tied with Elkhart’s Michael Foy for second in the boys 14-15 group with an 82. Triton’s Gregory Music — ranked first in the boys 12-13 standings with a dominant 82 points — topped Argos’ Killian Bailey by five strokes with a 36, while second-ranked Bryce Carmichael of Plymouth shot a 30 to win the boys 10-11 competition, a stroke ahead of St. Michael’s golfer Shaun Frantz in third.
Plymouth’s Claudia Marohn shot a 31, meanwhile, to finish in a three-way tie for second in the girls 8-11 flight.
