Bremen splits on 5th score
Goshen beat out Bremen’s boys golf team on a fifth score tiebreaker as the Lions split a triangular meet at Maplecrest Country Club Tuesday.
Kevin Woodyard and Micah Knoblock turned in a pair of 39s to lead the Lions, Kerry Herman fired off a 42 in the five spot, Sky Allen shot 47, and Bremen beat out Bethany Christian 167-234 to move to 14-9 on the season. Brad Foster’s 51 fell seven strokes back of Goshen’s Nate Gingerich as the Lions took the narrow loss to Goshen.

Plymouth 12U finishes runner-up at Eastside tourney
The Plymouth Yoder’s 12U travel baseball team earned a runner-up finish at the Eastside Memorial Day Tournament last weekend, finishing 3-1 with its only loss coming in the championship to Crown Point.
Plymouth opened with an 8-1 win over the Land Sharks Friday, beat St. John’s 5-4 on Saturday and Hammond 7-6 on Sunday for the right to advance to the championship opposite Crown Point.
Cam Dennie went 2-1 on the mound over the tournament and he led his team at the plate with four home runs over the first three games and the team’s only two hits in the championship.
Ezra Winkle earned the pitching win over St. John’s and closed out Plymouth’s tourney-opening win. He also homered in game three.
Brady Hatfield and Evan Ziegler each had two RBIs in the opener, and Austin Arriaga homered en route to two RBIs as Plymouth’s lineup recorded four homers in the win over Hammond.
