Kolden lifts CMA in 12
Trent Kolden came through with a pair of big hits for Culver Military, and the Eagles outlasted Jimtown 13-12 in a 12-inning marathon win at the Class 3A Plymouth Baseball Sectional Tuesday.
Kolden’s RBI double in the bottom of the ninth gave the Eagles new life, and hist walk-off homer in the 12th pushed CMA into the championship game opposite St. Joe today.
The win came on the heels of another extra-inning victory over Mishawaka Marian, a 6-5, eight-inning affair last Friday.
Coin Dean also homered and doubled en route to three RBIs for CMA, which was out-hit 16-15 but recorded six doubles and two home runs for the win.

Softball
Triton closes with loss to No. 1 Lakewood Park
Triton’s softball team closed out the year with a 9-0 loss to No. 1-ranked Lakewood Park Christian in regional play Tuesday night.
The loss comes on the heels of Triton’s 10-5 win over Westville for the program’s second-ever sectional championship last Friday night.

Boys golf
Glenn wins 3
John Glenn’s golf team recorded a trio of wins with victories over Adams, New Prairie and Washington at Erskine Park Tuesday evening.
Tyler Prentkowski shot a co-medalist 39 score two days after setting a course record in the Lancer Invitational at Swan Lake. Austen Hayes shot 40, Nick VanderVelden carded 44, and Michael Schmeltz shot 46 as the Falcons recorded a team score of 169, four strokes better than Adams.

Culver splits
Culver Community’s boys golf team split a three-way golf meet with Pioneer and Caston at home at Mystic Hills Tuesday, topping Caston 195-204 but falling to Pioneer’s 170.
Trent Elliott fired a 1-over 37 to lead the Cavaliers, while Kenny VanDePutte and Tristan Schultz both carded 52, and Cody Peterson and Tevin Jones turned in dual 54s.
