Nixon, Northridge shut out Plymouth
Haley Nixon threw a one-hitter, facing the minimum of 21 hitters as undefeated Northridge downed Plymouth 3-0 Tuesday.
The Raiders manufactured a run in the fourth off Plymouth’s Marissa Sullivan, using an infield hit, a bunt, a stolen base and a sacrifice fly, then tacked on a pair for insurance in the seventh.
Britney Horvath’s bunt single was the only hit and only baserunner for Plymouth.
Plymouth visits Elkhart Memorial today to begin the second round of NLC play.

Bremen suffers NSC loss
Bremen matched six Jimtown hits with six hits of its own but plated just two runs in a 6-2 Northern State Conference loss to the visiting Lady Jimmies Tuesday.
Kailee Feldman doubled, and Saylor Bailey took the loss in the circle for the Lady Lions.

Triton takes shutout
Triton lost a rare shutout to visiting New Prairie, 6-0 in a Northern State Conference game in Bourbon Tuesday.
Four different Lady Cougars doubled in the win as Triton slipped to an even 3-3 in the conference and 7-8 overall.

Triton tops New Prairie
Triton scored three runs in its final at-bat, and Pete Kauffman held on on the mound in the seventh as the Trojans claimed an 8-6 Northern State Conference win on the road at New Prairie Tuesday.
Seth Glingle drove in two runs, including the tying run on an RBI double to start the scoring in the top of seventh, while Erik Hoffman drove in two on a two-out, two-run single with the count full in the top off the third that pushed the Trojans into the lead, 3-2. Keita Morikawa went 3-for-4 with a run as the Trojans collected 13 hits against New Prairie’s Chayse Davis.
Kaufmman gave up two walks coming in to relieve Bryson Mosier in the seventh, but he induced a groundout by Kody Gorny to leave the tying run stranded on second as Triton improved to 3-3 in the league and 6-8 overall.

Pilgrims lose at Northridge
Plymouth put up nine hits but plated only four runs in a 12-4 Northern Lakes Conference loss at Northridge Tuesday.
Connor Flynn tripled and doubled, and Hayden Skirvin and Blake Milliser both doubled for the Pilgrims.
Jordan Scheetz took the loss pitching through four innings for Plymouth.

Glenn dimes Knox
Mark Einhorn and Tyler Niespondziany held Knox to two hits, and John Glenn dimed visiting Knox 11-1 in a five-inning Northern State Conference game in Walkerton Tuesday.
Jon Stewart tripled and doubled, and Josh Anderson and Charlie Dreessen each doubled for Glenn, which moved to 9-6 overall with a 5-2 NSC mark.

North Judson swept LaVille in all flights in a tennis meet in Judson Tuesday.
The Lady Jays won in straight sets on all courts, except 2 singles where Jordann Frasure beat Bailey Frick by injury default. The closest score of the meet came at 3 singles, as Rachel Ammons put away Kaitlyn Haisley 7-5, 6-2.
