Boys golf
Plymouth tops 3-way
Plymouth’s boys golf team jumped out to a 2-0 start to its dual meet season, and Bremen fell to both the Pilgrims and Mishawaka Marian in a three-way meet at Plymouth Country Club Tuesday.
Nate Kolter shot a 1-over-par 37 to lead Plymouth, Ben Schenk shot a 40, and John Ruff and Zach Craft both turned in 42s for the consistent Pilgrims.
Bremen was led by Micah Knoblock’s 39, while Kevin Woodyard turned in a 41, followed by Nate Srehler’s 52 and a pair of 56s from Joe Zeltwanger and Brad Foster.
Plymouth returns to action Thursday at its home course against Triton, Culver Military Academy and South Bend Adams, and Bremen plays Culver Community at Mystic Hills tonight.

CMA wins, LaVille splits
Culver Military won a three-way meet at Swan Lake to stay unbeaten on the young season with a 152 team score, while LaVille turned in a 173 to edge out Concord by three strokes Tuesday.
Alan Kuestermann finished 2 under par with a low medal round of 34 for CMA, while Davis Payne and John Connelly both shot 38, and Ben Sharff carded a 45.
Cam Gurtner led LaVille with a 38 followed by Zach Gurtner’s 40, while Blake Berger and Zach Hostetler carded scores of 47 and 48, respectively.

Triton moves to 8-0
Triton moved to a perfect 8-0 on the dual season with a score of 153 in a four-way meet with Elkhart Memorial, Elkhart Christian and Jimtown on the Trojans’ home course at Rozella-Ford Tuesday.
Quentyn Carpenter and Chandler Slone earned dual low medalist honors with even-par 35s, while Ryan Rapp shot a 40, and Tanner Shepherd shot a 43 for Triton.

Girls tennis
Plymouth drops NLC opener
Plymouth opened Northern Lakes Conference play with a narrow 3-2 loss to host Warsaw Tuesday.
Plymouth’s two wins came at 2 singles, where Allie Berger beat Sarah Boyle in split sets, 6-0, 4-6, 6-1, and at 2 doubles as Emily Blake and Mikayla German took a 7-5 first set win over Warsaw’s Rachel Alexander and Marley Smith before putting them away 6-3 in the second set.
The Lady Pilgrims slip to 2-2 overall with an 0-1 conference start.

LaVille earns 1st win
LaVille earned its first win of the season, 3-2 against visiting Tippecanoe Valley Tuesday.
Kaitlyn Haisley was the Lady Lancers’ only winner in singles play at the No. 3 position with a come-from-behind 3-6, 6-3, 6-1 Hannah Dalrymple. In another three-setter, Hannah Lenz and Kelsi Watts beat Tippy Valley’s Alexis Swihart and Kelsey Ball 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 at 1 doubles, and Taylor Strub and Tomas-Bailey Frick handed Mayra Jurado and Malinda Wright a 6-3, 7-5 defeat at 2 doubles.

CMA shuts out Sattelites
Culver Military Academy’s order produced 14 hits, and the Eagles handed visiting West Central a 10-0 diming in five innings at the Academies Tuesday.
Kyle Bartelman took the win on the mound in three complete innings as he and Cole Grandel held the visitors hitless in the shutout.

Bremen loses
Bremen put up five hits but was unable to score any runs in a 7-0 defeat by visiting Fairfield Tuesday.
Saylor Bailey took the loss inside the circle giving up 14 hits for the Lady Lions.

Culver Girls Academy surrendered 18 runs in an 18-1 diming by visiting Tippecanoe Valley Tuesday.
Jamie Madison got the loss pitching through one complete inning as the Lady Eagles went through three pitchers and two catchers in the loss.

Jr. high golf
Lincoln teams beat Rochester
The Lincoln Junior High boys and girls golf teams visited Rochester at Mill Creek Monday. After a very windy night both the girls and the boys teams ended up with a win by a final score of 216-236.
Low medalist was Lincoln’s Roger Karr with a 50, followed by Lincoln’s Morgan Oberly with a 52.
Lincoln will host a girls-only match at the Plymouth Country Club at 5 p.m. Thursday.

Women’s college tennis
Elliott splits, Belles lose
Plymouth alumna Shannon Elliott was a 6-1 winner in the first set of her number three singles match and outlasted her opponent in a 7-3 tiebreaker for the 7-6 second-set win as the Saint Mary’s women’s tennis team fell by a 6-3 margin to conference foe Calvin on Monday.
While Elliott’s tiebreaker clinched the Belles one of three match points against Calvin, she found herself on the wrong side of another tiebreaker at No. 2 doubles play with partner Kayle Sexton, losing 9-8(7-4).
The Belles (9-7, 2-3 MIAA) will have a break through the rest of the week before getting back to MIAA play when they host Kalamazoo on Tuesday.

Men’s golf
Mystic’s Pugh, Swan Lakes’ Hutsell play in IGA event
Mystic Hills course pro Dave Pugh finished in a six-way tie for 44th place, and Swan Lake’s Chad Hutsell placed in a five-way tie for 53 in an Indiana Golf Association event at the Trophy Club in Lebanon Monday.
Pugh turned in a 12-over-par 84 Pugh at the event, and Hutsell finished in 86 strokes at the event, which featured 76 competitors.
