8th grade girls basketball
Bremen closes regular season with win over Knox
The Bremen eighth grade girls basketball team closed out its regular season with a 39-16 win over Knox Tuesday night.
Shannon Arndt dominated the paint with 13 points and nine rebounds for the Lady Lions, who racked up 14 offensive rebounds and benefited from strong team defense.
Bremen’s conference tournament begins on Thursday with a game against Triton.

Lincoln 8th downs Urey
On Monday night, Lincoln’s eighth grade girls basketball team ran its record to 18-2 with a 40-23 victory over Urey Middle School.
Nicole Horvath led the team in scoring with 15 points, followed by Ashley Harrell with eight points. Victoria Styers chipped in seven points on the night, and Anna Bockman added five.

7th grade girls basketball
Lincoln 7th closes at 21-2
Lincoln’s seventh grade girls basketball team wrapped up its season with a dominant 30-5 win over Knox Wednesday night.
Leena Tetzloff scored 11 points, and both Sarah Egerski and Kenzie Quissell scored six.
The Lady Red Storm closed out their season with a stellar 21-2 record.

BMS wrestlers compete at NSCs
The Bremen Middle School wrestling team recently competed in the Northern State Conference Championships, where the young Lions made a strong showing in fourth place.
Kyle Herman won the Lions their lone championship at the meet, while Brandon Martin, Aaron Brooke and Jake Thornton each earned runner-up distinctions, and Anthony Robinson finished third.
Five other wrestlers placed fourth in Juan Estrada, Tyler Moser, Jonathan Rezewzski, Nick Smith and Josh Staiger, Briley Leeper was fifth, and Christian Keck wound up in sixth.

6th grade girls basketball
Riverside 6th A team wins TVMS tourney
The Riverside sixth grade girls basketball teams competed recently at the Tippecanoe Valley Middle School Tournament, with the A team winning the tourney championship, and the B team placing second.
Kacee Peters put up 10 points in the first game to pace the A team to a 41-12 win over Whitko, and the Lady Rockets racked up 46 points in a team championship win over Tippy Valley.
The B team rallied back from a two-point deficit headed into the fourth quarter of their opener with Tippy Valley, battling back to win by three. Alysa Kaminskas lead all scorers with nine points, and Mercedes Bastardo and Kaitlyn Carothers both had big buckets during the end of the game.
The championship came down to the wire as Whitko converted two last-second free throws to take a one-point victory and the tourney championship.
