Argos' Cohagan, Ewing advance at regional
The Argos girls bowling team competed in the Michigan City Regional on Saturday.
The team finished in 10th place with a score of 2,034.
Competing for the girls were Brittani Brown, Liz Hack, Jina Ewing, Abby Cohagan, Jamie Ewing, and Chelsea Bradley.
Jamie Ewing and Cohagan will advance in singles play to the Fort Wayne Semistate this Saturday at Pro Bowl West. Ewing shot a 524 to finish 10th and advance out of regional, while Cohagan shot a 498 to advance in 15th place.
Jina Ewing scored a 445 in singles competition but didn't advance as one of the top 16 finishers.

Lincoln takes 2nd at Merrillville tourney
The eighth grade Lady Red Storm traveled to Merrillville this past weekend for a tournament and got second place, beating Union Township 24-9 in the first game and falling to a tough Merrillville squad 52-34 in the second game.
Game one featured a balanced scoring attack by Lincoln with Shannon Stephenson scoring seven points, Lexi Mahabeer and Meghan Egierski scoring four apiece, Morgan Oberley putting up three and Kara Morwood, Elise Patrick and Lexie Simpson each contributing a bucket.
In the second game, Stephenson had 11 points, Mahabeer put up nine, Morwood and Oberley finished with five apiece, Audrey Pratt put up three and Patrick contributed a free-throw.
The Red Storm play at home on Wednesday and Thursday this week against LaVille and Indian Springs.

Urey B wins Plymouth Tournament
The eighth grade Urey B Lady Falcons won the Plymouth Tournament, defeating LaPorte Boston in game one 39-8 and in the championship LaVille 28-11.
Ashton Pease led Urey in scoring in game one with 12 points, followed by Heidi Kretchmer with eight points. Karissa Caverly led the Falcons in the championship with 11 points.
