Boys basketball
Falcons fly past Culver
Josh Anderson piled up 23 points, six assists, four rebounds, and three steals to lead John Glenn to a 55-35 Northern State Conference boys basketball win over Culver Community at The Aerie Friday.
Freshman Jake Strong contributed 11 points and four rebounds for the Falcons.
Trent Elliott paced Culver with 14 points.

Lions lose
Bremen dropped a 51-38 Northern State Conference boys basketball game at Jimtown Friday.
Justin Brown scored a game-leading 26 points to power the Jimmies.
Ethan Pike and Jacob Box scored 11 points apiece to lead the Lions, who struggled to a 38 percent mark from the field. Mitch Huppert collected a game-best six rebounds for Bremen.

Cain Thorn finished with a game-high 21 points to lead the Dragons.

Eagles fall
Culver Military Academy’s basketball team remained winless with a 64-54 loss to Traders Point at Fleet Gymnasium Friday.
Dante Scott scored a team-best 17 points to lead the Eagles. Willie Strong chipped in 12 points for CMA.

Falcons slip past Cavs
Nine different John Glenn girls basketball players landed in the scoring column in a 49-47 Northern State Conference win over Culver Community at The Aerie Friday.
Carah Ochs led Glenn’s balanced attack with nine points, followed by eight points each from Kyler Columbia and Katie Dreessen.
Culver’s Tatum Schultz led all scorers with 19 points. Kayla Shaffer pitched in 16 points for the Cavs.

8th grade girls basketball
Lincoln falls to Bremen in OT
The Lincoln eighth grade girls basketball team suffered a close loss in OT to Bremen 31-34. 
Leading the way for the Lady Red Storm was Shannon Stephenson with 18 points. Morgan Oberley had five, Audrey Pratt finished with four, and Lexi Mahabeer and Nicole Burdine chipped in a basket a piece. 
Mahabeer played a strong game defensively making Bremen’s leading scorer earn her points. 
Lincoln will be back in action this weekend in a tourney in Merrillville. 

7th grade girls basketball
Red Storm rout Bremen
Lincoln Junior High’s seventh grade girls basketball team returned to their winning ways Thursday night with a 36-6 win over visiting Bremen. 
Victoria Styers and Lanae Singleton led the team in scoring with eight points apiece, Nicole Horvath added six points, Maddy Samuelson and Destiny Schoff tossed in four points each, and Jenna Thomas, Anna Bochman and Ashley Harrell each added a bucket.
It was a great team effort with the girls grabbing eleven offensive rebounds and tallying 21 steals. 
The girls will be in action again as they travel to Thomas Jefferson Middle School in Valparaiso for a tournament this Saturday.
