St. Joe shoots through New Prairie
South Bend St. Joseph shot 50 percent from beyond the arch, and the Indians handed New Prairie a 55-44 defeat at the Class 3A Plymouth Sectional Wednesday.
St. Joe advances to play John Glenn, which drew the bye at the seven-team tournament, in the early semifinal Friday at 6 p.m. Sectional 19 action resumes at The Rock tonight with Culver Military playing defending champion Mishawaka Marian at 6 p.m., followed by a match-up between the host Pilgrims and Jimtown.
St. Joe knocked down 6 of 12 3-pointers on its way to 43 percent field shooting for the night in the win over the Cougars.
Connor Edmonds scored a game-high 19 points with eight rebounds, and Ryan Wobbe finished with 12 points for the Indians.
New Prairie was paced by 13 points from Jasen Webb and 12 from Collin Kowalski in the eliminator. The Cougars close at 12-9.
