Lancers spear OD
Oregon-Davis hung tough for a quarter, but LaVille held the Bobcats to just four points over the second and third quarters to run away with an eventual 55-25 win at home at Dale E. Cox Gymnasium Tuesday.
The Lancers led by a tentative 15-13 margin at the first quarter break, but the home team went on a 36-4 tear over the next two frames en route to its third straight win, a streak that started with a big double overtime victory over Mishawaka Marian last Tuesday.
Blake Berger finished with a game-high 16 points, while Nick Amor and Ryan Bettcher each scored 14, and Andrew Hostetler put up nine for LaVille, which moved to 14-6 on the season.
OD was led by Zach Johnston’s seven and Dalton Taylor’s six as the Bobcats closed the regular season at 4-15.
The Lancers close up regular season play with a Northern State Conference match-up against Jimtown at home Friday.
OD will play Marquette Catholic in the late quarterfinal at the Class A Culver Community Sectional next Wednesday.

Lincoln beats Whitko
Zach Stiller, Kevin Sibal and Jeff Oliver scored big wins in Lincoln’s 93-33 defeat of Whitko Middle School’s wrestling team Monday.
Lincoln will be back in action on Thursday when it takes on the Lions on the road at Bremen. The match will start at 4:30 p.m.
Bremen falls short against Fairfield
The Bremen middle school wrestling team fought hard against Fairfield but still fell short of a victory, 80-31.
Winning for Bremen by pinfall were Carson Spaid, Kyle Pollard and Kyle Herman. Aaron Brooke earned a decision in overtime, and Jake Thornton and Nick Smith won by forfeit.
8th grade girls basketball
Lincoln wins 2
Lincoln’s eighth grade girls basketball team earned a pair of wins over Culver Community and Laporte Kesling last week.
The Lady Red Storm beat Culver 30-11 Wednesday before rallying from a two-point halftime deficit to win on the road at Kesling 43-37 Thursday.
Horvath scored 20 points with eight rebounds in the win in LaPorte, while Victoria Styers added 10 points, and Anna Bockman and Lanae Singleton chipped in with four points apiece.
Horvath scored seven points in the win over Culver followed by Emma Frantz, Brittani Splix and Singleton with four points each.
Lady Lions lose
Bremen’s eight grade girls basketball team was defeated by Wawasee, 42-20. Leading scorers for the Lady Lions were Trisha Moser and Bri Andrews with six points each.
7th grade girls basketball
Lincoln beats LaPorte
Lincoln’s seventh grade girls basketball B team beat LaPorte Kesling, 26-19 recently.
Shayla Noble led all scorers with 14 points, and Kristen Brown contributed four for Lincoln.

Bremen 6th splits at OD
Bremen’s sixth grade girls basketball team split an A/ B doubleheader on the road at Oregon Davis winning the B game 26-6 but falling 19-13 in the A game.
Karlee Feldman led Bremen’s offense with 12 points in the A game, while Ashley Jeffirs scored four points to lead the Lady Lions B team.
