Boys basketball
Argos takes consolation
Argos’ boys basketball team defeated Knox 56-48 in the consolation round of the Winter Classic at West Central Saturday.
Dominic Cataldo led a balanced Argos attack with 14 points. Ben Carter followed with 12 points. Taylor Ogle ripped down a game-high eight rebounds for the Dragons, while Brian Snyder dished out three assists.
Brian Fulghum scored a game-high 19 points and secured seven rebounds to lead the Redskins. Curt Scherer chipped in 11 points for Knox.

Girls basketball
Pilgrims split at Norwell
Plymouth split a pair of girls basketball games at the Norwell Shootout Saturday.
In the opener, the Lady Pilgrims lost to host Norwell 31-30.
Haley Harrell scored 10 points to lead Plymouth. Amber Redinger pulled in eight rebounds, and Allie Wright collected three steals for the Pilgrims.
In the nightcap, Redinger led three Pilgrims in double figures with 15 points in a 47-39 win over Brebeuf Jesuit.
Lauren Tanner and Hunter Stevens contributed 10 points apiece for Plymouth; Tanner also handed out three assists, and Stevens racked up seven rebounds. Wright nabbed a team-high six steals.

Dragons drop championship
Ashley Norberg erupted for a game-best 22 points to lead Kankakee Valley to a 66-44 victory over Argos in the Winter Classic girls basketball tournament championship round at West Central Saturday.
Senior post Kayla Prochno finished with 15 points to lead the Dragons, who fell behind 17-10 at the end of the first quarter and trailed 30-22 at halftime. Karlee Van Der Weele followed closely with 14 points for Argos.
