Plymouth stays perfect in NLC
Plymouth’s Rockies remained unbeaten in Northern Lakes Conference wrestling with a 60-12 win on the road at Warsaw Wednesday.
Plymouth wrestlers won six matches by pinfall as Nolan Wright, Logan Wiegand, Eli Wendt, Aaron Houin and Drew Dodson all earned second-round victories by fall, and Vicinte Vasquez notched a third-period pin for the Rockies in a make-up of a dual meet rescheduled from two weeks ago due to illness throughout the Plymouth lineup.
Kam Markovich and DeAndre Pickford won their bouts by decision, and the Rockies took wins in another three weight classes by forfeit in the lopsided NLC victory, which pushed Plymouth to 15-3 overall with an unblemished 5-0 league mark.
Plymouth’s varsity will compete at the John McKee Memorial Invitational at Rochester Saturday morning, when the Rockies JV will wrestle at the New Prairie JV Tournament.
