Bremen boys complete sweep
Bremen’s boys basketball team finished off a girls-boys doubleheader sweep of Knox with a 61-45 Northern State Conference victory Friday.
Jacob Box led four Lions in double figures with 17 points. Ethan Pike turned in a double-double with 12 points and 11 boards, while Don Browning and Kai Slough chipped in 10 points apiece.
Bremen evens its record at 3-3 (1-0 NSC).

Cavs fall in OT
Culver Community dropped an overtime Northern State Conference boys basketball heartbreaker to Jimtown, 49-48 Friday at John R. Nelson Gymnasium.
Junior forward Trent Elliott erupted for 33 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Cavs.
Nick Floyd led the Jimmies with 12 points — all from 3-point range.
Jimtown hit 8 of 14 from the 3-point line, while Culver hit just 3 of 13 from deep.
Culver slips to 5-2 (1-1 NSC).

Bremen earns 1st win
Bremen collected its first win of the girls basketball season with a 58-54 victory over Northern State Conference foe Knox in the opener of a boys-girls doubleheader Friday.
Bremen is 1-9 (1-2 NSC). Knox dips to 1-8 (0-3 NSC).

Women’s college basketball
Chargers streak stopped
The Ancilla women’s basketball team saw its two-game win streak snapped with a loss 86-53 over Danville Area Community College.
Kaylia Richardson finished with 27 points, 14 rebounds and five steals to lead the Lady Chargers, while Knox’s Hope Wagner added eight points, two blocks and two assists.
The Lady Chargers drop to 3-6 on the season.They begin MCCAA play vs. Jackson Community College on Jan. 7.
