Boys basketball
Elliott steps up for Cavs
Winamac held Culver junior Trent Elliott seven points under his average, but Collin Stevens stepped up big as the Cavaliers handed host Winamac a 58-41 defeat Tuesday night.
Stevens led the Cavs with 17 points while Elliott put up 13 for Culver. Micah Budzinski finished with eight points and nine rebounds, Tucker Schutlz scored six with nine rebounds, and Jordan Sanders finished with seven points, four assists and six steals. Everett Krueger scored seven for the Cavs’ balanced offense.
Winamac was led by Parker Fox’s 10 points in the loss.

Panthers hand LaVille 1st loss
Washington had two players with 20-plus points, handing LaVille its first loss of the season, 56-47 at home in South Bend Tuesday.
Chris Sleepers and Tra’veon Johnson finished with 22 and 21 points, respectively to lead Washington.
LaVille was led by Andrew Hostetler’s five 3s for 19 points, while Nicholas Amor finished with 12 points, and Blake Berger scored nine for the Lancers, who slipped to 3-1.

Triton rallies at Bethany
Triton rallied back from a three-point halftime deficit to put Bethany Christian away by a convincing 72-36 margin on the road in Goshen Tuesday night.
Clay Yeo dropped 37 points to power Triton, and Tanner Shepherd chipped in 17 for the Trojans, who moved to .500 at 3-3 on the young season.
Bethany was led by Caelb Morris’ 15.

Concord kept host Bremen winless in a 65-38 decision Tuesday night.
The Lady Lions were led by Ashley Lucchese’s nine pints, while Rachel Czarnecki, Brooke Snyder, Megan Stouder and Brooke Fitch all scored four for Bremen.
Concord was paced by Michelle Detwiler and Anna Heck with 11 points each.

Plymouth’s boys swim team lost a Northern Lakes Conference meet at Warsaw Tuesday night, 144-34.
Brandon Brashere was the Pilgrims’ lone winner in the breaststroke.
Brady Ruffing, Simone Yates and Chris Whitle swam season-bests for Plymouth in the loss.

Plymouth falls to Tigers
Plymouth’s girls swim team lost a 133-42 Northern Lakes Conference meet at Warsaw Tuesday.
Taking first places were Katie Berg in diving and Megan Senter in the 500 free.
Anya Hettich, Brianda Lowe, Brianna Hayes, Mariah Tepper and Hope Barrow all recorded season- or personal bests for the Lady Pilgrims.

Freshman boys basketball
Plymouth 9th wins at Glenn
The Plymouth freshmen boys basketball team defeated John Glenn Tuesday night,45-21.
Leading the Pilgrims’ balanced scoring attack was Matt Friar with 15 points.
The freshmen Pilgrims move to a record of 2-2 and travel to Northwood on Thursday.
