Girls basketball
Lady Falcons down Eagles
Carah Ochs put up a game-high 23 points, and John Glenn held Andrijana Cvitkovic to eight as John Glenn earned its first win of the season while handing visiting Culver Girls Academy its first loss 72-60 at home at The Aerie Tuesday night.
Behind senior guard Ochs, sophomore Kyler Columbia put up 14 points for Glenn as the Lady Falcons’ backcourt knocked down nine 3-pointers to trump the Eagles front line for the win.
Victoria Christlieb scored 20 points in a productive outing for the Eagles, and Jamie Madison and Alle Baker scored 11 and 10 points, respectively, but it wasn’t enough to beat the balanced Falcons as Cvitkovic fouled out at the match-up between Sectional 19 rivals.
Glenn moves to 1-1 while CGA drops to 2-1.
The Falcons will take a week off before traveling to South Central next Tuesday for an 8 p.m. tipoff. The Eagles will be back in action at Bowman Academy Friday at 8 p.m.
