Lady Pilgrims win Adams Tourney
Plymouthâ€™s volleyball team won the championship at the South Bend Adams Tournament over the weekend with a trio of two-game wins over Riley (25-19, 25-15), Mishawaka and host Adams (25-15, 25-18).
Amber Redinger finished the tourney with 19 kills and six assists, while Marissa German recorded 18 kills, four aces and 10 digs, Haley Harrell set 55 assists and served four aces, and Mikayla German finished with 22 digs and four aces.
Carly Baker led the team in blocking with nine stuffs, while Emily Eveland finished with four aces.
The Lady Pilgrims improve to 15-12 with the finish.

Bremen wins Caston tilt
Bremen beat LaVille 25-18, 25-23 for the championship at the Caston Volleyball Tournament Saturday.
Brooke Baker recorded nine kills, three blocks and six digs in the championship match, while Cassie Sears finished with six blocks, Sabrina Gilley recorded 18 assists with a pair of aces, and Brooke Fitch served up three aces.
LaVille stats were not available for the tourney.
The Lady Lions also recorded dominant wins over Oregon-Davis (25-1, 25-10) and Caston (25-19, 25-10).

Culver Girls Academy handed visiting East Chicago Central a loss in three lopsided games Saturday, 25-5, 25-5, 25-4.
Torrie Christlieb finished with 10 kills, Paige Baldacci set 26 assists, and Sarah Boland served an impressive 12 aces with three digs.

Plymouth lost a 1-0 girls soccer match with visiting South Bend Adams.
Catherine Mittiga scored in the 15th minute and the visitors made the goal stand up in the defensive contest.
The Lady Rockies were outshot 10-6 in the loss. They travel to the Class 2A Warsaw Sectional to face NorthWood Thursday at 5 p.m.

Bremen draws with NorthWood
Jasmine Schafer scored on a Kelsa Anderson assist in the 55th minute, and Bremen tied with visiting NorthWood 1-1.
NorthWood jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 31st minute on an unassisted scored by Valerie Ostrowski.
NorthWood plays Plymouth Thursday in the Class 2A Warsaw Sectional, while Bremen plays Northern State Conference opponent John Glenn today at the Class A LaVille Sectional.

Shaffer lifts Culver at LaVille
Kayla Shaffer scored twice in the second half, and Culver Community beat host LaVille 2-1 Thursday.
Shaffer scored on assists from Megan Brady and Shakkira Harris as the Lady Cavaliers rallied from a 1-0 deficit in the second half.
LaVille takes on Mishawaka Marian, while Culver plays Elkhart Christian at the Lady Lancersâ€™ home sectional Tuesday.

CGA wins at Westview
Allison Bakerâ€™s second goal in the 68th minute proved the game-winner, and Culver Girls Academy beat host Westview 2-1 Saturday.
Baker scored in the 11th minute to stake the Lady Eagles to a 1-0 lead before Riley Hochstetlerâ€™s score in the 13th minute erased it.
Olivia Fox finished with four saves for CGA in the win.
The Eagles play open Warsaw Sectional play opposite the host Tigers Tuesday.

battle of unbeatens
The Plymouth JV football team won a 30-15 win in a battle of fellow unbeaten Concord Saturday at the Rockpile.
Kyle Lacefield led a balanced offensive attack with great support from Brandon Zehner, Camden Hisey and C.C. Bastardo. The defense was led by Caleb Wiers, Elijah Nixon and Hisey.
Plymouth moves to 7-0 on the season. The JV squad hosts Goshen next Saturday at 10 a.m.
Jr high girls soccer
Argos wins HSC Tourney
The Argos girlsâ€™ junior high soccer team won the Hoosier Soccer Conference (HSC) Tournament with a 2-0 Championship win over Goshen.
The Lady Dragons edged Concord 2-1 in the semifinal and bounced Northridge 4-0 in the opening round.
After a season-opening draw with Goshen, the girls won 10 straight and finished 10-0-1 on the season. The Dragons had six shutouts and outscored their opponents 36-8.
The HSC began play in 2008 and the current members are Argos, Bethany, Concord, Elkhart Christian, Goshen, Northridge and Westview.
8th grade volleyball
Red Storm beat Bremen
The Lincoln Red Storm eighth grade volleyball team traveled to Bremen on Thursday and came away with two victories 25-20, 25-14 and 25-18, 25-14.
The team moves to 15-2.
Nicole Horvath, Anna Bockman, Erin Hunter, L.J. Singleton, Alli Dennie, Cassie McPherron and Zoe Keilman led Lincoln in hitting, Ashley Harrell and L.J. Singleton led in setting, McPherron, Kennedy Snyder, Emily Hoffer and Brittany Splix led in passing, and Dennie, Singleton, Harrell, Kassie Dickey and Zoe Keilman led in serving.
Lincoln hosts Warsaw Lakeview today.
For Bremen, contributions were made by Shannon Ardnt with six kills and nine digs, and the Lady Lions were led in serving by Belle Beeson, Josie Detweiler and Lacy Bennitt with one ace each.
7th grade volleyball
Lincoln 7th stays perfect
On Thursday the Lincoln seventh grade volleyball team hosted Bremen, winning 25-12, 25-17 and 17-25, 25-22, 15-5. Kendall Rhodes and Bailey Eveland led Lincoln in setting and serving,
Hitting: Makenzie Scheets, McKenzie Quissell and Kirsten Null led in hitting, and Null and Leah Smith led in passing.
The Red Storm remain unbeaten at 12-0 with the victories and host Warsaw Lakeview today.
Area students earn top finishes in Carmel
Plymouth Family Taekwondo students, Conner Mathews and Harley Bryan recently competed in a Taekwondo tournament in Carmel. Matthews placed first in Traditional forms, second in Creative Forms and third in Sparring, and Bryan finished first in both Traditional Forms and Creative Forms.

Ancilla earns tie
The Chargers (1-4-3) tied Jackson Community College 1-1 last Wednesday.
Rene Mejia tended the net for 110 minutes and made two saves on the day. Manny Awuku added his fifth goal of the season with a half volley that stunned the Jackson goalkeeper in the 25th minute. Jackson tied the match in the 62nd minute, and the game ended in a draw following two overtime periods.
