Rockies coast, finish perfect NLC season
Plymouthâ€™s wrestling team earned wins in 12 of 14 weight classes, and the Rockies coasted to an unbeaten Northern Lakes Conference dual meet finish on the road at Concord Thursday, 71-9.
Plymouth saw the benefit of four forfeits by the Minutemen, and Rockies wrestlers notched seven pinfalls and a technical fall for the lopsided win.
Kam Markovich, Stephen Abair, Braxton Moore and Nolan Wright earned successive pinfall wins from 132 to 145, and John Stillson claimed his tech fall win 21-6 at 152 pounds.
Jacob Pearson pinned his opponent in the first period of the 170-pound match, and Aaron Houin followed up with a third-period pinfall win at 182.
Plymouth closes out its NLC dual meet schedule at 7-0 with the win. The Rockies will wrestle at the Northern Indiana Conference meet at South Bend Washington Saturday before competing in the NLC Championships the following week.

Freshman boys basketball
Plymouth 9th hands Concord 1st loss
The Plymouth fFreshmen boys basketball team continued its win streak Thursday night against an undefeated Concord team, 43-34.
After taking a four-point lead into halftime, the Pilgrims held the Minutemen to only four points in the third quarter to move ahead by 11 heading into the final frame.
Matt Friar led the way for Plymouth with a season-high 16 points.
The young Pilgrims move to 6-3 on the year and will host the Plymouth Tourney on Saturday which also includes Bremen, Triton and Tippecanoe Valley.
Menâ€™s college basketball
Chargers take tough loss at Lansing
The Ancilla College menâ€™s basketball lost a tough game to Lansing Community College Thursday, 72-60.
Rosey Green turned in a top performance for the Chargers with 18 points while Sean Hoevener added nine points for Ancilla.
The loss brings the Chargersâ€™ record to 6-6 on the season and 0-2 in MCCAA. They return to action Saturday when they host Lake Michigan College with tipoff at 3 p.m.
