LaVille wins at NorthWood
LaVille bounced back from a Peru Tournament championship loss with a 59-51 win on the road at NorthWood Tuesday.
The Lancers were led by Andrew Hostetler’s 20 points, while Jordyn Williams and Nick Amor chipped in 16 and 11, respectively. Justin Baker finished with game-high tallies of four assists — along with Williams — five steals and seven rebounds for LaVille.
NorthWood was led by Jonathon Wilkinson’s 13 points, followed by Braxton Miller’s 12 and Zach Zurcher’s 11 in a balanced scoring effort.
The Lancers move to an even 4-4 on the season and return to Northern State Conference play Friday as they host Bremen at 7:30 p.m.

Shively, Glingle record career-highs in Triton win
Clay Yeo scored a game-high 20, while Zak Shively and Seth Glingle chipped career-highs of 15 and 13 as Class A No. 8 Triton beat Elkhart Christian on the road Tuesday, 61-41.
Elkhart Christian was led by Kenny Bearss’ 12 in the loss.
Triton improves to 6-3 with its second straight win and will play a Northern State Conference contest at John Glenn Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

Glenn falls to Marian in OT
John Glenn fell in an overtime heartbreaker with Mishawaka Marian at home at the Aerie Tuesday, 57-55.
The Lady Falcons were led by 20 points apiece from freshman guard Kyler Columbia and sophomore forward Erin Patterson. It was a career-high for Patterson, while the tally represented Columbia’s highest since Glenn’s season opener against Argos Nov. 10.
Marian was led by Katie Barnard’s 19 points, while Kathleen Kavanagh finished with 14, and Erin Guzicki had 13.
John Glenn slides to 3-9 and will return to action with a Northern State Conference game at Triton Friday at 8 p.m.

8th grade boys basketball
Lincoln eighth tops LaVille
The Lincoln eighth grade boys basketball team returned from winter break and defeated LaVille 37-19.
The Red Storm (12-2) led by six at the intermission and outscored the Lancers 13-4 in the third to put the game away.
Cam Eveland and Jack Barron led the Red Storm with eight points apiece, and Trevor Neidlinger and Sam Stone each chipped in six points. Braydon Davidson and Matt Friar tallied the Red Storm’s other points with five and four respectively. The Red Storm host LaPorte Kesling Thursday night.
The Lincoln eighth grade B team also defeated LaVille, 32-23, staying undefeated at 8-0.
The Red Storm were led by Zach Combs, A.J. Styers and Stone Dalton with six points each.
The B team looks to finish its season undefeated as its hosts LaPorte Kesling in the season finale Thursday.
7th grade boys basketball
Lincoln beats LaVille
The Lincoln seventh grade boys basketball team ran its record to 12-2 with a convincing 55-17 win over LaVille Tuesday night.
The Red Storm used a balance scoring attack that was highlighted by a season-high 14 assists and 15 steals.
Leading the way in scoring was Nick Felke with 12 points followed by Ryan Carmichael with nine points. David Bacon and Hudson Yoder chipped in with eight each. Kaleb Koss had a solid game with six points and eight rebounds.
Lincoln travels to LaPorte Kesling Thursday.
Women’s college basketball
Lady Chargers remain winless at Lake Land tourney
The Ancilla College women’s basketball team remained winless on the season after finishing 0-3 at the Lake Land Community College Christmas Tournament at Lake Land Community College in Mattoon, Ill.
The Lady Chargers lost 68-59 to Shawnee Community College on Dec. 29, 98-58 to Lake Land on Dec. 30 and 75-63 to John Wood Community College on Dec. 31.
Ancilla’s overall record is 0-9 heading into the conference season.
Brittany Cook was the only player to reach double figures in scoring all three games, scoring 15 against Shawnee, 21 against Lake Land, and 19 against John Wood.
Brene Dailey provided a spark off the bench, scoring 16 against Shawnee and 18 against John Wood.
Natasha Ware also had a strong weekend, grabbing 12 rebounds against Shawnee and scoring 19 points against Lake Land and 15 points against John Wood.
Katrina Vannoy added 10 points against Lake Land.
The Lady Chargers will open MCCAA Western Conference play on Wednesday when they host Muskegon Community College. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. EDT.
