Police arrest man for child molesting
PLYMOUTH — A 67-year-old man from Texas who has been staying with family in Plymouth was arrested Friday and accused of sexually assaulting a female child under the age of 14 who was known to him.
Jonas Salazar Olvera was taken into custody at 8 p.m. Friday by Plymouth Police at his residence. He is charged with a felony, child molesting, and he is being held on a $115,010 bond.
The bond includes a second charge, filed against him in 2009 that alleges a similar incident with another child. After the probable cause affidavit was signed in October, 2009, Olvera could not be reached to be arrested on this previous charge.
The charges were filed based on victim statements and Prosecutor David Holmes said that these charges are allegations until proven otherwise in court.
