Plymouth knocks off visiting Lions in 3 games

September 23, 2010

PLYMOUTH — If you blinked you probably missed a good chunk of Plymouth’s volleyball match against visiting Bremen Wednesday.
Boosted by a lightning-fast start, the Pilgrims needed just 53 minutes to dispatch Bremen 25-4, 25-12, 25-18 in an intra-county squabble at The Rock.
Plymouth packed a powerful punch at the net and blanketed its half of the court while breezing through the first two games.
“Bremen’s a young team and they’ve been struggling this year; they made us look good, but we did do some things well,” Plymouth head coach Walt Pickerell said. “Our serve receive was good. We were passing well. We were hitting well to the right spots. We played defense well. And blocking, our blocking was touching everything tonight. It was a pretty good effort for our kids.”
